your so fine

For her NY's resolution, a co-worker dedicated to being more girly.  I got her a 4 pack of lip gloss for Christmas to support the cause, and we've had a couple chat's on girly things.  Right before Christmas I was debating changing how I wear my hair, and she motivated me to put out the effort.

I normally wear my hair pulled back & twisted in a clip.  If it was a good day, I made sure to get the "Texas big hair poof" on the front.  Everyone likes the Texas Big Hair poof and I could do it naturally without using the Bumpits, cause I'm a Texas girl ya'll....

So I went to Ulta to get a new shampoo/conditioner/product regime.  I started with Paul Mitchell's Extra Body shampoo, rinse (fancy word for conditioner), hairspray and volumizing gel.  It works great when I want to wear it down.  Adds plenty of volume and holds for a good portion of the day.  But my hair wasn't as soft as I liked it to be.

Over the Christmas break I went to Beauty Brands and got my hair cut.  She washed my hair with Redken and it was soft, volumness and smelled good.  This last week Ulta had a liter sale on them, so I got the Redken Body Full shampoo and conditioner.  And Kendra shine serum.  Makes it super soft and manageable, but not as full.

Now I'm going back and forth each day and that seems to be okay.  Anybody have a better experience or recommendation?  It doesn't help that I have ulta fine hair and it doesn't hold body well at all.

I also picked up a set of the lip glosses for me - and they are yummy!  Ulta triple layer lip gloss.  They had a 4 pack gift around Christmas time, and last time I was in there they were marked down to $7.99!  Good stuff!

my body hurts so bad, it feels good

Well after I fell off the wagon in Oct. with my Asia trip, we are back to the gym!  24 Hour Fitness has Zumba, and well that was all it took!  But that's only twice a week, so we've been hitting the cardio a lot and hard.  We bought such good shoes at Run On that my feet don't hurt.  And I'm pretty sure my eyelids are okay.  Everything in between has been in a constant state of mild pain for two weeks.  Zumba was certainly easier tonight, thank goodness!  I can't believe how far your body can fall after just 3 months -- it's like I hadn't flexed a muscle in years!

Brian hates it when I say this, but this is what helps me get through it : Pain is weakness the body.

You know what makes me feel better - other than knowing that it will all be worth it - is that Ulta is having a liter sale!  Yay!  Liter for the price of a small bottle!  Go check it out!

Missing TO

Sitting on the couch, Kaiser on one side, laptop on the other, cuddled under a quilt watching the Cowboys.  I know they are having a SUPER DUPER year.  But you know what -- I miss TO.  They showed the Salvation Army bucket earlier, and I was so hopeful TO would score and throw the ball in again...  but that can't happen.  Dad made popcorn and I wanted a reason to throw it all over the floor - you know - cause I had my popcorn ready!  They may be better -- but wasn't it just more fun with TO?!?

I'm not trying to take away from a really good game.  I love a win, and Roy Williams is playing a great game and has been entertaining to watch.

But these boys need more ego.  Need more attitude.  If they can't have TO, can we at least get TI in to teach these boys some swagga?

Get out of my bed!

I love my dogs.  I love how soft Major is and how warm Kaiser is (this time of year at least), but they are total bed hogs.  About a year ago when we were having all the issues with the cat and her bladder stones, we couldn't expect the boys to sleep on their beds because, well, they were "dirty".  So while before they would jump on and off throughout the night, they both got in the habit of sleeping on our bed.  All night.  Every night.

But now I want my space back!!!  So for a couple weeks we have been kicking them off and they aren't allowed on the bed at all.  But yesterday Brian came back to the bedroom after breakfast and they were snuggled down on our bed!  I need some tips for keeping them off ALL the time.

I want a new duvet cover, but don't want to put something new on the bed until they learn to stay off.  Even when we are gone!
